New president and CEO of The Cooper Institute, Blaine Nelson, will discuss future plans for the organization at The Cooper Institute at 12330 Preston on Monday Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
Part of the vision includes plans to tackle international childhood obesity by creating a national youth fitness test to reduce childhood obesity in Hungary. Dr. Kenneth Cooper, Ross Perot, and Members of the Hungarian School Sports Federation will also present.
Nelson brings a track record of corporate and nonprofit sector experience to this new role. He currently serves as chairman of the board of governors for the Dallas Symphony Association, and as a member of the board of directors of the United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas, the Dallas Regional Chamber and the Dallas Arboretum. Nelson was also recently elected chair-elect of the board of directors of the Texas Israel Chamber of Commerce, according to the press release.
