The Dallas Chamber Symphony’s International Piano competition, to be held Wednesday-Saturday at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts, will showcase some of the best pianists in the world. Nasher Sculpture Center hosts Spring Break ‘til Midnight and Block Party in the Nasher Sculpture Garden from 6 p.m.-midnight on Friday. Enjoy specialty picnic baskets and grab and go snacks from the Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck, progressive tours, social media scavenger hunts, and an evening of family friendly entertainment, featuring live music at 7 p.m., followed by the 1980s film “Labyrinth,” all for free.

Bring the kids to Bookmarks Library (in the NorthPark Center) for Night Creature Jr. Safari at 2 p.m. on Saturday. A presenter will be on hand with real-life creepy-crawlies — including a tarantula, alligator, legless lizard, Burmese python, opossum, and owl — all to teach children about how nocturnal animals live, thrive, and survive. Free.
