When she was 29-years-old and 34-weeks pregnant with her second child, Ashleigh Royalty Range discovered she had stage 3 triple negative inflammatory breast cancer. To cope with the diagnosis, she started a blog. She assumed her friends and family would check the site for updates, but she never anticipated her posts would attract thousands of readers.

One reader submitted Range’s name to Ally’s Wish, a foundation that fulfills the requests of terminally ill young mothers. Range, a lover of parties and fashion, asked for a gala and her wish was granted.

Range passed away Sunday morning, but her legacy lives on. Her husband and their two young sons are healthy, and the gala honoring her life will be held August 13 at the Preston Hollow home of Tricia Sims. Guests will dress in turquoise cocktail attire and sip drinks, but this is more than a party – it’s a philanthropic event. Range conceived of the gala as a way to raise $100,00 for The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network Foundation (IBC). Tickets are $100 each. Purchase one or donate to IBC by clicking here.
