It’s been roughly a month since tornadoes ravaged parts of North Texas, but many people are still dealing with the ramifications. Recently, the Alcuin School decided to help by collecting household goods — like cleaning products and linens — for victims in Garland.

Teachers and students from the Upper School filled a bus with the donated items. They then drove to two relief organizations — Oasis Church and Joseph House — where they helped sort the products.

“It was a humbling experience for our students to participate in a community service activity that was part of a critical effort to help those facing tremendous loss,” Amanda Day, Alcuin Upper School project advisor, says. “This valuable experience demonstrated that we can all contribute to our community and answer the call to help support our neighbors in need.”
