Fourth graders at The Lamplighter School spent the morning of Jan. 28 packing lunches, not for themselves but for others. The sandwiches were delivered later in the day to Family Gateway, an organization that helps people in Dallas overcome homelessness.

Lamplighter parents supervised the service project, but it was the kids who really rolled up their sleeves.

“It’s important to help people who don’t have food,” fourth grader Laura Mangelsdorf says.
