St. Mark’s may soon expand its science facility in a major way. The school recently submitted a zoning change request to the City of Dallas, asking for an amendment to “the [existing] development plan and conditions for Planned Development District 553 to permit a new two-story science facility” on the campus.
If the request is approved, “the laboratory spaces, mechanical, plumbing and electrical functions of the current McDermott-Green Science Building will be updated” and “the new science facility [will] be adjoined.”
The new building would take up 55,553 square feet and feature a planetarium dome, according to the filing. We recently reached out to the petitioner and will update this post with more details as they become available. The tentative City Plan Commission hearing date is listed on the form as March 29.
