For fans of impressionist paintings and local painters, the Museum of Biblical Art will be displaying, for the first time, the works of Henrietta Milan for three months.Opening June 26, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., art enthusiasts will be able to enjoy 45 original oil paintings. Milan will also be in attendance for the opening reception.
The exhibition will consist of garden, pathway and floral pieces, which were influenced by her European travels, most notably Giverny, France, which was the home of Claude Monet.
Scott Peck, museum director and art historian is thrilled to have Milan’s work at the museum having said, “Milan is an essential part of Texas art history. She is the great Fort Worth impressionist artist carrying on the legacy of French Modernists”
Milan lives in Texas today, but was born in Woodstock, Ill. After attending school in Chicago, she headed to the University of Texas at Austin.
Through different methods, Milan has captured worldwide attention with pieces are in Indonesia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, New Zealand and Japan.
All of the pieces will be available for sale until the exhibition’s closing date, Sept. 23.
