As if Dallas Fire-Rescue already didn’t have its hands full, two local stations were shut down because of sewage backups.

Firefighters and engines at Station 41, 5920 Royal Lane in Preston Hollow, and Station 42, 3333 W. Mockingbird Lane near Love Field, were relocated to sites across the city.

“Conditions in the fire stations are unlivable,” spokesman Jason Evans told the Dallas Morning News. “Sewage and fecal matter are coming into the stations.”

A pipe that broke near Royal Lane and Preston Road triggered Station 41’s problems, and the catalyst of Station 42’s backup remains unknown.
