Nancy Cohen Israel, art historian and owner of Art à la Carte, speaks Thursday at 6 p.m. on the rise of international Impressionists. This series will trace the rise of Impressionism in France and trace the movement through painters in Spain and Italy.

George Ensle plays at Uncle Calvin’s Friday at 8 p.m. Ensle is a veteran singer/songwriter who began his career in Houston in 1967 sharing stages with legends Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Billy Joe Shaver.
