Spieth is tied for 55th place after one day of the tournament where he registered an even-par 71. Spieth will tee off this afternoon at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The tournament runs through April 21.

Spieth told Yahoo Sports he thought he hit well Thursday, but that he will stay in the tournament over the weekend.

“I felt like I hit a lot of really good shots today. It is tough out here when the wind is kind of swirling through the trees. I haven’t played here in four years, I forgot about that,” Spieth told Yahoo Sports. “I felt like I stayed really patient, took some punches today on some wind gusts or whatever it may be, and some putts that almost went in. But with the conditions we have coming up through the next three days I kept myself in it. I really could have shot two-or-three-over today. And feel like the game is progressing.”
