Hanukkah, the eight-day festival of lights, begins Dec. 22. Here are some neighborhood celebrations:

Chanukah Celebration at NorthPark Center

What: Chabad of Dallas will host a menorah-lighting celebration. Expect live music, doughnuts, latkes, dreidels and more.

When: Sunday, Dec. 22, 5-7 p.m.

Where: NorthPark’s NorthCourt, between Nordstrom and Macy’s

Menorah-Lighting Celebration at the Galleria

What: Shaare Tefilla’s Rabbi Ariel Rackovsky will tell the story of Hanukkah. The congregation’s children’s choir will perform, and there will be treats and goodies.

When: Sunday, Dec. 22 at 5:30

Where: Galleria Dallas, Level 1, near guest reception.

Concert and Menorah Lighting at the JCC

What: The Aaron Family Jewish Community Center of Dallas hosts a menorah lighting and concert by Rick Recht.

When: Tuesday, Dec. 24. The menorah lighting is 5:15-5:45 p.m.; the concert is at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Aaron Family Jewish Community Center of Dallas, 7900 Northaven Road

Chabad Chanukah at NorthPark’s Bookmarks

What: Members of Chabad of Dallas will tell preschoolers the story of Chanukah. Also: kids can make  crafts, sample treats and light the menorah.

When: Friday, Dec. 27, 10:30-11:30 a.m., and Sunday, Dec. 29, 12:45-1:45 p.m.
