UPDATE as of May 28, 8:45 a.m.: The Dallas Police Department announced that juvenile was responsible for the death of the victim, Leslie Squair Baker.  On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, the juvenile was arrested and charged with capital murder by homicide detectives.  He is currently at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center.

A 59-year-old woman was shot in her car Monday, May 25, according KRLD 1080 and NBC 5. About 5 p.m. there was gunfire at the woman’s home in the 6100 block of Royalton Drive near Preston and Royal. Paramedics took her to the ER, where she died. The suspect has not been caught. The home is one block away from the  Preston Royal shopping center. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Leslie Baker, who was a marketing executive for Texas Health Resources.

Leslie Squair Baker grew up in Dallas, according to WFAA. “She doesn’t know a stranger. She knows everybody,” said Susan Stoler, who went to Dallas ISD’s W.T. White High School with Baker in the 1970s. “A wonderful, vivacious, loving caring person. One of the best people I ever knew.”
