A fire started by construction on the first floor of NorthPark Center caused the mall’s evacuation and sudden closure Saturday afternoon.

Most of the building remained closed for the rest of the afternoon and evening, the Dallas Morning News reported. Authorities reported no injuries.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was dispatched around 1:45 p.m. to the shopping center. The blaze turned out to be accidental and began when construction ignited the belt of an out-of-service escalator.

In a tweet, Northpark said that the fire started in the area of the soon-to-open Eataly, a three-story food hall and Italian grocery that has been under construction since July.

The blaze was quickly extinguished and the mall was evacuated before responders arrived. Dallas Fire-Rescue was able to clear out remaining smoke.
