Registration is open now for the 35th annual Bagel Run, hosted by the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center.

The “Mother of All Runs” is again taking place on Mother’s Day, which this year falls on May 9.

Participants can run or walk a 5K or 10K, and kids can do a 1K. Prices for all events will remain the same until the day of the race, when costs increase.

Every person who decides to get involved — even if only through a virtual run — will receive a T-shirt, medal, mask and race bib. The JCC is expecting the race to be held in-person, but if safety guidelines change, all runners will switch to the virtual event, and the period to complete the race will be May 7-23.

Awards will also be given out to the fastest runners in each age group.

For a chance to win an award for best spirit or costume, form a team and wear outfits that stand out from the rest.

The JCC is also asking for volunteers, especially to staff the aid stations. Volunteers, who will work from 6:30-11 a.m. will get a T-shirt and can earn community service hours for school. Sign up here.

There are three dates available for packet pickup at the JCC, located at 7900 Northaven Road. Participants can go May 6 from 4:30-6 p.m., May 7 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. in the main lobby and May 8 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

On race day, registration opens at 6:30 a.m. The welcome begins at 7:30 a.m., and the warm up starts at 7:45 a.m. The 1K race for kids starts at 8 a.m., followed by the 10K at 8:20 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m. All races close at 10:30 a.m.
