Luka Doncic surprised 80 children at Children’s Health in Dallas and Plano with gifts this week.

Doncic, a Preston Hollow neighbor and Dallas Mavericks guard, sent presents to the patients to help lift their spirits.

“I really wish I could have been there to meet and talk to the kids but hopefully this surprise brought a smile to their faces and encourages them to stay strong,” Doncic said in a press release. “I just want all the kids and parents to know I’m thinking of them.”

He didn’t deliver the gifts himself to protect the health of the kids. But he arranged for medical staff to bring a pair of Jordans, a Jordan drawstring bag, hoodie and socks, a letter and a signed photo. There was also a “Luka & Bobi” coloring book. Each patient also received an individual pizza with 77 written in pepperoni.

The staff who helped with the deliveries got a pizza, too.

This isn’t the first time our neighbor has given back to the community. Earlier this year, he donated 100 pairs of Jordan sneakers to medical staff at UT Southwestern. And in his home country of Slovenia, Doncic helped rebuild some basketball courts.
