A dating app company with headquarters in our neighborhood will “shout gay” in protest of Forida’s “don’t say gay” law.

Match, located on North Central Expressway, sponsored a float in the Dallas Pride parade at Fair Park on Sunday, June 5.

“Match doesn’t want you to just say Gay – they want you to shout it!” a media release states. “Employees will cheer, chant and shout GAY on a magnificent float.”

“Don’t say gay,” which the Governor of Florida signed into law in March, makes it illegal to mention sexual orientation or gender identity  in kindergarten through third grade. A similar law has been proposed in North Carolina.

“Match celebrates the diversity and inclusion in our city, and introducing a bill like this in Texas will negatively impact the LGBTQ+ youth and families in our community and beyond,” the company stated in the release.
