Meadowbrook School will move to a new location in August 2023.

The school, which has been educating pre-K and kindergarten students for over 50 years, is currently located on W. Northwest Highway near Inwood Road. It serves many students throughout Dallas, including in Lakewood and the M Streets.

In August, news was announced that the previous owners sold the school, and that the school would close. But Meadowbrook was converted to a nonprofit organization and will move to a larger location by the start of the next school year, at 6525 Forest Lane.

“We are thrilled to be able to carry on the legacy of Meadowbrook,” longtime teacher Jane Garner says in a news release. “Meadowbrook will continue to be a one-of-a-kind place for advanced learning and childhood development.”

The school was established in 1970 by Trisha M. Fusch, a native of England who wanted to open an institution in Dallas modeled after a traditional English education.

Meadowbrook instills in students a foundation in phonics, reading, writing and math, preparing them for future levels of education. Two full-time teachers are in every classroom.

Its current campus on Northwest Highway is a 1920s-era Tudor home with two playgrounds, a sports court and a vegetable garden.
