On May 17 the Episcopal School of Dallas announced a $2 million donation from the ESD Parents’ Association (ESDPA), endowing the associate head of school position.

According to an ESD press release, the position will be held by Ruth Burke, who has maintained an important administrative since joining ESD in 1997. Burke’s roles include overseeing admissions, communications, community culture, and strategic initiatives. The release also credits Burke with the timely and on budget completion of the lower school.

In the release, Hobson Family Head of School David Baad spoke on the importance of the ESDPA’s gift.

“By endowing the position of Associate Head of School, the Parents’ Association is ensuring we will have strong leadership for generations to come. This gift also affirms the important role Ruth Burke has had at ESD for nearly three decades. The position is significant to our culture, the partnership with the Parents’ Association, and the development of future leaders,” Baad said.

To date, the ESDPA has donated more than $15 million to the school, according to the release.
