Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban’s prescription drug company recently partnered with virtual wellness assistant, Drexi, to further cut prescription costs.

Together, Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs and Phoenix, Arizona-based Drexi have the goal of making drug pricing more transparent and costs more affordable for those who need them. Drexi, founded in 2013, calls itself a pharmacy benefit manager, which is a company that manages prescription drug benefits on behalf of health insurers and contracts directly with pharmacies.

“Our mission is to empower every one of our members to prioritize their health without the worry and undue burden of unaffordable medications,” said Anthony Masotto, GM and EVP Pharmacy at Drexi in the press release.

Cost Plus Drugs is an online pharmacy that was established last year with over 1,000 prescription drugs.

“We already offer transparent, low prices to cash-pay consumers and are excited to now be working with Drexi to further reduce the cost to patients, and to keep the patient record complete from both a clinical and financial perspective,” said Alex Oshmyansky, CEO of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company in the press release.

Both companies are aiming to “disrupt and dismantle Big Pharma,” according to Dallas Innovates.
