A new smokehouse and a special on cookies are in this roundup of local food news.
Corner Bakery, which has locations at NorthPark Center, Park Central and Galleria Dallas, is offering cookies for 99 cents all month. The announcement comes ahead of National Bakery Day on Sept. 22.
The featured cookie flavors include chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, English toffee and monster.
A new smokehouse and bar is also opening at Inwood and Forest called Barrel & Bones. The restaurant, which currently has locations in The Colony and Carrolton, will open the third location with an enhanced menu, according to the press release.
The restaurant is near the Galleria and has a menu featuring smoked brisket, turkey, sausage, pork belly bahn mi, brunch and cocktails.
The latest Barrel & Bones location is at 12300 Inwood Road, Suite #130.
