Love Field Airport is undergoing a security update in its high-grade system to prevent further vehicle incidents similar to the one a few weeks ago.

Although the ram incident a few weeks ago didn’t cause any damage due to the gate’s successful strength, the airport is reviewing its security. In 2010, a driver broke through the airport’s gate and onto the tarmac where many planes had to be delayed and in 2013, a man rammed the gate and raised security concerns. Dallas Love Field presented a security enhancement project to the City of Dallas and Love Field Board in 2018. The Board approved a five-year warranty with Nice Hysecurity, a brand specialized in creating high-grade gate and barriers in North America.

Now five years later, they’ve updated the security solutions with a new addition of the Hysecurity StrongArm M50 to be used on the airport perimeters. The solutions were introduced at the GSX (Global Security Exchange) 2023 where security industry leaders met in Dallas to discuss the new updates.

According to the tech report, the Hysecurity brand makes high-quality industrial gates to prevent any crashes. The product is used at every major airport, data center and military bases for both domestic and abroad.

The AI-powered tech caters to clearly identifying suspicious behaviors and unauthorized attempts. Automated gates and crash-rated barriers help create a layered defense system.

“These technologies provide physical barriers that restrict access to unauthorized individuals and vehicles, further strengthening the overall security infrastructure,” their reports said. “By integrating these technologies with access control systems, video analytics, and other security measures, integrators can help airports establish a robust and multi-layered defense system, enhancing the overall security posture, mitigating risks, and ensuring the safety and integrity of airport facilities, passengers, and personnel.”

Following the GSX meeting, they’ve signed another five-year warranty with the new implementation and the plan continues to be free of any vehicle risks.
