Last Thursday, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club held their annual President’s Dinner to celebrate the nation’s design industry elite and to honor PaperCity Magazine’s Holly Moore.

The nation’s design industry elite gathered at the second annual Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s Dallas Presidential Dinner at the Brook Hollow Golf Club on Oct. 5. The gala that introduced the design event was chaired by designers Jan Showers, Shelby Wagner and Claire Emanuelson. Attendees helped raise over $300,000 to fund the Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx, NY. The event welcomed this year’s designers with a spectacular gala, cocktails and a seated dinner. Notable attendees included celebrated interior designers for this year’s design show house, Dallas notables and supporters of the cause.

“This has been an event and industry that has been kind of ingrained in my blood,” Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club executive director, Daniel Quintero, said. “So designers, whether when you’re in your rooms and you’re frustrated because the fabric doesn’t show up or the furniture is not on time, please remember the amazing designs that you create. You are providing the elevation of your career and empowering and doing wonders for the 10,000 children and families in the Bronx. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The evening honored Holly Moore, a long-time supporter of the cause and editor-in-chief and co-owner of PaperCity Magazine. It also highlighted local charities such as Crystal Charity Ball and Dwell with Dignity.

“I know it hasn’t been easy, but your commitment to families and children has transcended any bumps in the road and we are ever so grateful,” President of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, James Druckman, said. “ We help children realize potentials they never knew they had. We help them stay off the streets. And we prepare them to be solid citizens. They are our future. And we must nurture and protect that future. So that it can be said that we as human beings and Americans pave the way for happy, healthy, well adjusted members of society. There is nothing more important than that.”

Each year, the Kips Bay President’s Dinner raises money for more than 11,000 children between the ages of 6 and 18 at ten locations throughout the Bronx. It provides for essential after-school and enrichment programs to continue growth and success.

The fourth annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas will run for two weeks starting on Nov. 3 at 9446 Hathaway Street in Sunnybrook Estates in Old Preston Hollow. The event has shared information on tickets, hours and parking options.
