Fresh off his second Masters Tournament win, Highland Park golfer Scottie Scheffler made a stop once back at home to celebrate his victory at Inwood Tavern.

The 27-year-old Highland Park grad clinched his second green jacket at the Masters Tournament last week, solidifying his status among champion golfers. Scheffler secured the title with a 4-under 68. His first win in 2022 made him one of 10 youngest winners in tournament history.

This year’s victory marks his second Masters win in three years, according to AP News. Currently ranked as the world’s number one golfer, Scheffler’s status is something that hasn’t been seen since Tiger Woods’ prime.

Following this year’s win, Scheffler returned home to Dallas to reunite with his wife, Meredith, who is expecting their first child. Donning the emblematic green jacket, Scheffler stopped by Inwood Tavern, a neighborhood favorite near Dallas Love Field.

Inwood Tavern commemorated the moment with a post featuring Scheffler alongside barback Jesus Varlea and other tavern staff.

“Welcome home Champ!!!” the post read. “Congratulations to you and your growing family.”

The Advocate happily joins in with the chorus of homecoming and winning praises.
