NorthPark Center will host Dec My Room’s North Texas Chapter’s sixth annual Room to Grow Luncheon and Fashion Presentation at Neiman Marcus on April 3.

Dec My Room is a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing the lives of children hospitalized for extended periods.

The 2024 Room to Grow Luncheon is co-chaired by Jane Rozelle Humphrey and Vodi Cook Meagher, with Dawn Greiner serving as this year’s Honorary Chair. Greiner will be honored for her “selfless spirit and unending energy” in supporting the charity since 2017.

NorthPark’s fashion and lifestyle ambassador, Kimberly Schlegel Whitman, will receive the inaugural Monarch Servant Heart Award for her steadfast support and longtime fashion co-presentations with the charity.

The event will feature a reception, luxury item raffle, silent auction and a seated luncheon. The New York Times bestselling lifestyle author Moll Anderson and New York-based fashion designer Sally LaPointe will showcase the latest spring fashions from the LaPointe Spring/Summer 2024 lines, followed by sweets on Neiman Marcus’s second level.

Dec My Room has been creating personalized hospital rooms for children for 16 years. Originating in Houston, it has expanded to 10 chapters, serving 79 hospitals in 17 states. The Dallas Chapter, now known as the North Texas Chapter, was established in 2016 and expanded to four hospitals in early 2022.

The charity will present Christopher Schuette with the 2024 Celebrate Flight Award. Diagnosed with aplastic anemia in 2019, Schuette underwent successful medical treatment and received a bone marrow transplant in July 2023, embodying Dec My Room’s mission. His room was inspired by his interests in computer science and Broadway.

The sponsor for the event is Bread Winners Café & Bakery. The fashion event will start at 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Neiman Marcus Courtyard.
