After more than a decade on ABC’s series, “Shark Tank” Mark Cuban says he’s ready to swim away.

In an appearance on the Showtime basketball podcast, “All The Smoke” that aired on Monday, Nov. 27, the Dallas Mavericks owner and entrepreneur on Shark Tank announced that he’s moving on. The show currently is in its 15th season. Cuban will depart in the 16th season, expected to run in 2024.

“It’s time,” Cuban said about his leave.

Cuban has been part of the hit reality entrepreneur series, investing in over 100 companies since he became a full-time host in 2012. He joined the show in its second season and has been a series regular for 13 seasons. Cuban is one of six business “sharks” featured regularly on the show.

“I love it because it sends the message the American dream is alive and well,” Cuban told podcast hosts Barnes and Jackson. “I feel like in doing Shark Tank all these years, we’ve trained multiple generations of entrepreneurs that if somebody can come from Iowa or Sacramento or wherever, and show up on the carpet of Shark Tank and show their business and get a deal, it’s going to inspire generations of kids.”

The fifteenth season premiered on Sept. 23 and is currently airing every Friday on ABC. Last week, it skipped its weekly evening slot for the Thanksgiving football games, but returns this Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. Central Time.
