Last winter season, the Chi Omega Christmas Market raised a record-breaking $572,000 for local causes.

During its 46th year, the market collected over half a million dollars benefitting 13 local causes, including After 8 to Educate, Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center, Dallas Methodist Hospitals Foundation and For the Love of the Lake Foundation. The funds were distributed to the causes on Feb. 27 at the Make-A-Wish North Texas headquarters.

The market has been the organization’s most cherished tradition since its first in 1977. Since that first year, the market has raised a total of $10.4 million for local charities. Last year, Monica Goulding and Zoe Murphy were the event’s co-chairs.

“We feel immense satisfaction in contributing to these deserving North Texas nonprofits,” Goulding said. “Raising $572,000 resonates with the spirit of giving during the holiday season. We are proud to support causes that positively affect the lives of North Texans daily.”

The market, which took place from Nov. 15 to 18 at the Automobile Building in Fair Park, featured over 200 merchants and attracted over 10,000 shoppers. Vendors offered a variety of festive products, including holiday decor, baked goods and toys.

Chi Omega shares they’re already planning for this year’s market.
