On Feb. 13, The News reported that its former city columnist would return, becoming the only full-time columnist on the opinion pages.

Wilonsky reported on his hometown of Dallas for over 20 years before joining The News in 2012. After eight years there, Wilonsky left to become the vice president of public relations and communications at Heritage Auctions.

In the statement announcing his return, Wilonsky said, “I never felt quite right calling myself a ‘former journalist.’”

Wilonsky’s first column will be available soon after his return in early March.
