Update: Dallas police arrested Juan Francisco Salazar Sept. 17 in connection with a hit-and-run that lead to the death of a 7-year-old girl, according to police.

According to authorities Salazar has been charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid, a third degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Original blog: Dallas police are looking for the driver of a black Dodge Durango in the 2004 – 2009 year range after it was one of two vehicles that struck a 7-year-old girl, according to police reports.

Authorities say Devora Lopez was crossing the street at 2700 W. Northwest Highway with a family member at 7:57 p.m. Sept. 15 when two vehicles struck her. She was transported to Children’s Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Police believe the Durango sustained damage to the front left headlight, according to police reports.

The second vehicle was at the scene, police say.
