Jesuit alumnus Jordan Spieth was named 2013 P.G.A. Tour Rookie of the Year award. At age 20, he is the youngest winner to make it into the P.G.A. Tour championship and the only rookie to make it into the P.G.A. Tour championship in 2013.

“What’s special about Spieth is that he’s an ordinary guy from a close-knit family with an efficient, unflashy golf swing,” says ESPN reporter Farrell Evans. “He has the kind of game that should hold up under pressure for the next 25 years.”

Spieth made headlines earlier this year when he won the P.G.A. Tour in June at age 19. He is the first teenager to earn a P.G.A. title win since 1931.

Watch Spieth play next in this weekend’s U.S. Presidents Cup, Oct. 3-6.
