In case you’re still wondering what the heck was going on at the Dallas North Tollway and Harvest Hill Monday afternoon, it was bank robbery gone bad. It ended when the suspect shot and killed himself inside his vehicle as Dallas police pursued him.

It turns out, the man, 36,  was the brother of a Dallas Police officer and used his brother’s weapon to commit suicide.

It all started at about 11:30 a.m. when suspicions arose even before the suspect had a chance to enter the Sterling Bank at 5006 Verde Valley. Someone from a Harvest Hill apartment complex called the police after noticing the suspect, and plainclothes officers began to follow him. Bank employees managed to lock the doors before the suspect, dressed in all black, could walk inside. The same exact scenario happened at the bank last Friday.

Backup was called, and a brief chase ensued before the suspect pulled into a parking lot at the Tollway and Harvest Hill and shot himself.
