Businesswoman Elizabeth Jones is the latest candidate to throw her hat in the ring for the District 1 seat.

Since Edwin Flores announced he will not be seeking re-election for District 1 Dallas ISD Trustee seat, which serves part of Preston Hollow, a few candidates have stepped up the plate including DeGoyler dad Michael Greenberg, a Sparkman Club Estates resident with a Ph. D. from the University of Texas at Dallas; and Jennifer Levy, a stay-at-home mom. Today, businesswoman Elizabeth Jones jumped into the race with Ebby Halliday as her campaign treasurer.

Jones is a visiting professor at the UTD’s School of Management and co-founded the Center for Finance Strategy Innovation. She developed and has taught MBA courses for more than 10 years. She often speaks for groups in the business, education and public sectors. She has experience in finance, investment banking or corporate management. Read her full bio here.

District 1 serves the W.T. White and Thomas Jefferson feeder patterns. The election is approaching quickly. Early voting is April 30-May 8, and the election is May 12.

Update: A fourth candidate, attorney Roland Love, filed on March 5.
