Why not plan your weekend around these three art events?

Creative Arts Center’s (CAC) Annual Membership Show: Our neighborhood is ripe with artistic talent. For evidence, visit the Mary Tomás Gallery, which is hosting this year’s CAC Membership Show. A handful of Preston Hollow residents – Ann Brockett, Jack Brockett, Patricia Van Buskirk and Stephen Weinberg – have pieces on display. Click here for details and gallery hours.

“From Dijon to Dallas”: When you leave Mary Tomás, head to SMU for “From Dijon to Dallas.” The exhibit celebrates the inaugural year of an exchange program between the Meadows School of the Arts and École Nationale Supérieure d’Art (ENSA) in France. Two artists, Melissa Tran of SMU and Hugo Capron of ENSA, will swap places for six-weeks and find inspiration in each other’s cities. Visit the Pollock Gallery to see what Tran and Capron are about. Click here for details and gallery hours.

Undulating Substrates: Mosaic Workshop: If viewing all that art got your creative juices flowing, make your own masterpiece with a little guidance from Jamie Weisbrod. The instructor will host two mosaic workshops this weekend at the Museum of Biblical Art. The Friday class is $80 and the Sunday class is $65. You’ll be provided with everything you need to create a couple of undulating substrates – tiled pieces that look like abstract landscapes. Click here for details.
