Jose Bowen, dean of Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts, will be the featured performer at Temple Shalom’s Friday evening services.
"Jose Bowen’s Jazz Shabbat Service," will feature Bowen performing alongside a six-piece jazz ensemble. Temple Shalom’s adult and youth choirs and the Meadows School Vocal Jazz Ensemble will also perform at the event, which begins at 7:30 p.m.
Bowen has performed around the world alongside Dizzy Gillespie, Liberace and others. He also was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for a symphony he wrote.
Temple Shalom is at 6930 Alpha Road in Far North Dallas.
