The Varsity football teams at rival schools, Hillcrest and Thomas Jefferson, are competing against each other Thursday night, but together, they’re promoting a greater cause.

To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which starts in October, Panther and Patriot fans are wearing pink to show their support for breast cancer research. Inside the gate, there will be “Pink Out” shirts for sale for $12 with proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Franklin Field.
