Dallas CASA will begin its 17th annual Parade of Playhouses this Friday at NorthPark Center, featuring around 20 creative children’s playhouses that will be available for raffle.

All proceeds from the raffle goes toward Dallas CASA, an organization of volunteers focused on improving the lives of abused and neglected children in Dallas. CASA, which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate, provides support to children in the Dallas County foster system to ensure they have a safe place to call home.

Created by local architects the playhouses will have several imaginative designs such as a lighthouse, an urban chicken coop, an airplane hangar and a baseball dugout furnished with authentic memorabilia donated by the Texas Rangers.

Visitors can purchase raffle tickets for $5, or can purchase five tickets for $20. The drawing for the raffle winners will be announced at the closing ceremony, at 4 p.m. Aug. 19. Those unable to attend the event can still participate online where a special playhouse will be auctioned.

The playhouses will be on display at the mall from SouthCourt to Barneys New York.
