St. Alcuin Montessori School dedicated a toddler playground on its campus in honor of a former student that sadly died in December after a year-long battle with brain cancer.

The community was present at the special naming ceremony of the Chloe Simone Shea Toddler Playground where they celebrated the young girl’s life through music and poetry performed by students. Chloe’s parents want the children who enjoy the playground and those who knew her best to remember her legacy.

Contributions helped bring about life-sized playhouses, a shaded sandbox, toddler bridge, ladybug and hollow log décor accents, and interactive musical instruments like drums and a butterfly-shaped xylophone chime.

The special naming ceremony was Sept. 7.
