It looks like there are some who find LBJ’s construction more than a pain in the driver’s seat.

The LBJ Express Project‘s environmental team was honored at a construction-related national transportation association’s 14th annual “Globe Awards” June 3. Organizers behind the LBJ Express Project received an award for their “outstanding efforts in maintaining environmental protection and standards throughout each phase of construction.”

The team was recognized for their “Comprehensive Environmental Protection Program and “Soil and Groundwater Management Plan,” which has resulted in the donation of soil for Dallas and state projects, and the recycling of groundwater for re-use in drought-stricken parts of North Texas.

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation honored LBJ workers at their annual event in Washington, D.C.
