Eliza Gilkyson is in the Austin Music Hall of Fame alongside Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson and more, but at 8 p.m. June 28 she’ll perform her folk and Americana music at Uncle Calvin’s. Rebecca Loebe of “The Voice” is the special guest and opening act.
The Shops at Park Lane hosts its “Movies under the Moon” event featuring a special showing of “The Blind Side.” Pack a picnic, and grab some chairs and blankets for the 8:30 p.m. June 28 event. Sponsored by 7-Eleven, attendees will sip free Slurpees and receive DVD giveaways. Popcorn will be on sale for $1 a bag, and Gordon Biersch will sell food and alcohol.
Register the kiddos for the Disney Store’s “School of Scaring” 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. June 29. Students will attend scream orientation, hear a special message from Dean Abigail Hardscrabble and receive a Monsters University ID and gift.
