District 11 councilman Lee Kleinman

  • Councilman Lee Kleinman of District 11 (which includes Preston Hollow), used M&M’s to argue for fiscal responsibility at Tuesday’s Dallas city council meeting. Kleinman’s proposal was part of a debate about how to spend an extra $1.1 million that was added to the budget on August 30. His proposal was voted down by fellow council members.   • On Tuesday, activists protested Sept. 11 memorials honoring President George Bush held at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Protester and Iraq veteran Gary Egelston said that the group would move to Bush’s Preston Hollow neighborhood to protest later that day.

 

  • This weekend, LBJ construction workers will perform the first of four major traffic shifts scheduled for this month. Traffic from the old LBJ main lanes will be redirected to the newly-constructed LBJ general purpose lanes. The first shift begins Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. and will prompt major closures, which are listed on the LBJ Express website.
