Since her film debut in 1979, Bette Midler — “The Divine Miss M” — has entertained countless audiences and garnered numerous accolades, including four Grammys, four Golden Globe awards, three Emmys, and a Tony award.

This May, the international film and music icon will serve as the keynote speaker for the Woman to Woman luncheon.

The bi-annual luncheon, coordinated by Preston Hollow-based organization Jewish Family Services, celebrates women who serve in their local community. Funds raised at the luncheon to benefit professional mental health and social services provided by Jewish Family Services.

Speaker Midler has extensive experience serving the community, having developed the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a nonprofit dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City parks, community gardens and open space.

Since starting the NYRP 18 years ago, the press release states that Midler has “partnered with New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and a corps of community and corporate volunteers to green New York City’s parks and open space – focusing on underserved and economically-disadvantaged neighborhoods.”
