Man arrested for robbing four banks in two days, including two in Preston Hollow

On Dec. 20, police say 54-year-old Shakila Mukadam held up the Wells Fargo bank at 5900 West Northwest Highway, in the Preston Center. It was one of four banks he’s alleged to have robbed in two days.

He also is suspected of stealing from the Compass Bank at 4200 Oak Lawn Ave. on Dec. 19. On Dec. 20, between noon and 4 p.m., police say he hit the Wells Fargo, another Compass Bank at 1800 Abrams Parkway and the Chase Bank at 11700 Marsh Lane on the edge of our neighborhood. In each case, he gave the teller a note demanding cash.

Following his Dec. 20 robbery spree, Dallas SWAT tracked Mukadam to Old East Dallas where he was arrested. He is being held on charges related to the Wells Fargo robbery, but police expect to add charges for the other crimes as their investigation continues.
