Dallas Morning News columnist Sharon Grigsby has an inspiring column about a neighbor who started teaching at 59 and hasn’t missed a day at work in the last 26 years. Sharon Bradley, 85, spent four decades as a Dallas emergency room nurse and ambulance paramedic before teaching at Naaman Forest High School. During the Oct. 20 tornado, she survived the storm with her dog, Daisy. Trees fell on her roof and she didn’t have electricity, according to Grigsby, but she made it to work. Garland ISD recently honored her on her birthday for her perfect attendance.
