The Jesuit Dallas Museum is hosting an upcoming show featuring Laura Roosevelt’s “History American Pop” Jan. 16-March 14 in the school’s historical library. The opening reception is Jan. 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m. with beverages, hors d’oeuvres and music by the Jesuit ensemble. Roosevelt, who is Franklin and Eleanor’s great-granddaughter, specializes in abstract mixed media painting. “These pieces incorporate iconic photographs with textured, abstract backgrounds, reshaping the experience of those moments frozen in time,” says Elizabeth Hunt Blanc, director of Jesuit Dallas Museum. In addition to her art, the exhibit will include Eleanor and Franklin’s words, chosen by her sister Elizabeth Roosevelt Kelly and their late great-aunt Chandler Roosevelt Lindsley.
