Dallas 24 Hour Club is raising money a little differently this year. Instead of their normal fundraiser, the Dallas All-Star Chef Classic, the organization is raising money by publishing a cookbook. This is due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cookbook is entitled “Cooking at Home: A Collection of Recipes Created by Dallas’ Top Chefs From Their Home to Yours.” Member of the Advocate’s 2020 class of Fierce Females, Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman and Eric Dreyer, executive chef of Ellie’s Restaurant & Lounge at HALL Arts Hotel, serve as honorary chef chairs for the cookbook.
The Dallas chefs were asked to send in recipes that they made for their families. Kent Rathbun, owner and chef of Rathbun Test Kitchen and Imoto, Sebastien Archambault, executive chef of The Mansion Restaurant at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, and Janice Provost, executive chef & proprietor of Parigi all penned recipes to name a few. The book features over 40 recipes by various local chefs.
“I love the theme of this cookbook because it showcases the love we give to our own families. Cooking At Home will give the reader a chance to peek into our dining rooms, one recipe at a time,” says Quiñones-Pittman in a release. “I am honored to support The 24 and serve as honorary chef chair for this project because the work they provide to those seeking recovery from addiction is so needed.”
According to their website, The Dallas 24 Hour Club provides “safe, sober transitional living for homeless men and women seeking a brand new life away from drugs and alcohol.”
