Move over Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift, there’s a new Twitter feud. This time, it’s between two famous Texans, Preston Hollow resident Mark Cuban and Senator Ted Cruz.

Cuban and Cruz sparred on Monday after Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, replied to talk show host Mark Davis’s tweet. Davis tweeted his excitement for the Mavericks but then stated that “the minute one player kneels during the anthem, I am OUT.”

Cuban replied, “Bye”.

Cruz then screenshot Cuban’s tweet, and without tagging Cuban, said, “Really??!? NBA is telling everyone who stands for the flag, who honors our cops and our veterans, to “piss off”? In Texas no less? Good luck with that.”

Cuban, who saw Cruz’s tweet, reply tweeted “Have some balls for once @tedcruz. Speak to me. It’s my tweet.”

Cruz fired right back, and a multi-tweet fight broke out between the two. In the remaining tweets, Cruz and Cuban sparred over China’s virus response and the recent NBA controversy where people could not order customizable shirts with the words “Free Hong Kong.”

However, the targeted tweets ended with Cruz tweeting, “I agree Black Lives Matter. I agree there is a pandemic & we have taken extraordinary steps to defeat it. Where did that pandemic originate? Why did Communist China COVER UP the Wuhan outbreak & arrest whistle-blowers? And why are you terrified to say ONE WORD about China?”

Some outlets and accounts called for a boycott of Cuban after the Twitter sparring. Responding to this, Cuban gave one final blow linking to his website. His tweet read, “For those of you that want to boycott me. is the best URL for a list.”
