The campuses of Thomas Jefferson High School and Walnut Hill International Leadership Academy (ILA) will have reopening celebrations Saturday, Feb. 11.

Both campuses reopened last month after being closed for three years. The October 2019 tornado caused extensive damage to the schools.

After renovations and rebuilding efforts, Thomas Jefferson High School retained some of its old building. Walnut Hill Elementary was replaced with a new campus that also took the place of Cary Middle School and renamed Walnut Hill ILA.

The events, meant to welcome back staff and students to campus, will include a building dedication at 11 a.m. at Thomas Jefferson High School. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Walnut Hill ILA in the cafetorium.

There will also be open house tours of both schools.
