The City of Dallas is offering free emergency preparedness classes for its Spanish-speaking residents.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program teaches community members about disasters that affect the Dallas area. For the first time, the program will be offering these important safety courses entirely in Spanish. The goal of providing these classes is to give Spanish speakers basic training in disaster response.

This course is free to the public and does not require identification to attend however, pre-registration is required.

Throughout this course, participants will be educated on Disaster preparedness for themselves and their families, basic medical aid, light search and rescue, fire safety, and more.

The courses are on June 10, 17, and 24 from 8 a.m. til 5 p.m. at the Dallas Fire-Rescue Training Academy.

Residents must attend all three courses to receive a certificate of completion.  Pre-registration can be found here.
