We all know the feeling of the hectic stress in the kitchen during the holidays. There’s an ungodly amount of food going in and out of the oven and you’re getting distracted for the umpteenth time. We get it, you want some sanity and you’re hungry. That’s why we have some local restaurants on deck to save you time and energy. These restaurants make it convenient to just pop in, grab a few dishes and divvy it up at home – or, have this save in case of a plan B.

  1. TJ’s Seafood Market & GrillNow, seafood might not be the traditional addition to a Thanksgiving spread, but we’d like to make the exception for TJ’s Seafood Market. For the holidays, TJ’s has their classic platters like the New England Lobsta’ Roll Platter or the Chardonnay Poached Salmon Platter. Or go for the sides like the baked brie, Key Lime Cheesecake or Seafood and Andouille Gumbo. Orders can be made on their website.
  2. A TableA Table is serving up the classic Thanksgiving meals such as the pasture-raised turkey, truffle macaroni and cheese and green beans with golden-brown sliced almonds. Orders can be placed anytime before Nov. 19 at noon and deliveries will be made the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
  3. Renny’s Bar and GrillRenny’s Bar and Grill invites you to the table this holiday as they cook up a three-course meal with all the goods. For the main course, you can choose between the turkey with sage-cornbread dressing, or the grilled Texas redfish, or, for the more adventurous, pepper-crusted steak au poivre fries. And don’t forget the ‘green dream pie’ or the pecan pie. Roasted turkeys and sides are also available to-go. Orders must be placed on their website today, Nov. 17 and can be picked up next Wednesday, Nov. 22.
  4. Central MarketCentral Market is more than just a grocery store because this season, it’s our new best friend. Find the entire Thanksgiving spread with whole turkey or ham options, tamales and all the sides to slather up with the gravy or sauce. Or ditch the regulars and go for the butternut squash lasagna. Orders can be placed online up until 6 p.m. on Nov. 20 and can be picked up in-store. Central Market notes they cannot do curbside pickup for holiday orders.
  5. OceanaireThe Oceanaire by the Galleria invites guests to take a shortcut from the kitchen to the table with a Thanksgiving feast Thursday, Nov. 23. The herb roasted turkey breast is the star of the show surrounded by its ensemble of cranberry sage stuffing, cranberry chutney, green beans almondine and more. The dinner is $50 per person and reservations can be made online.
  6. Second Floor Kitchen Or stop by next door at Second Floor Kitchen featuring a buffet menu of a Southern-inspired Thanksgiving fare from award-winning chef, David Smith. And Smith is pulling out all the stops with a carving station, savory sides and even a lonestar dessert display. The meal will be served in the ballroom on Thursday Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  7. Emporium PiesAnd lastly, but certainly not least, pies. Emporium Pies is the hallmark of a good pie and they have seven decadent pies to choose from. Whole pies are available from Nov. 20 to Nov. 22.
