Just in time for the holiday season, Eataly introduces its first-ever collection of traditional holiday Italian cakes.

The debut of the Italian cakes includes panettone and pandoro. Panettone is a sweet Italian bread that is made with candied fruit and sometimes raisins. It resembles a dome shape and is usually made for special occasions and holidays. Pandoro is similar to panettone, but instead of a dome shape, it looks more pointed, modeled after the mountains near Verona. It has powdered sugar sprinkled on top to give off a snowy mountain look.

The panettone cakes come in flavors such as classico, pistachio cream and orange and chocolate. For the cakes, Eataly uses dough made with lievito madre (mother yeast), butter made from Piemontese cream, fresh eggs, candied orange peels, soft raisins and vanilla from Madagascar. The cakes both use time-honored traditions of Milan and Verona to bring a taste of Italy to Texas.

Each cake will come in an elevated box, making it perfect for a centerpiece at the next holiday gathering or as a decadent gift. The panettoni and pandoro cakes are now available in the store at NorthPark Center or online.

Eataly has a variety of other selected assortments available on their website.
