Santaland at the Galleria Dallas 2021

Galleria Dallas was awarded three MAXI awards at the Innovating Commerce Serving Communities (ICSC) Global Awards Ceremony yesterday.

The ICSC promotes advancement in the marketplaces industry around the globe. The organization’s yearly MAXI Awards give recognition to retail establishment’s innovative events, programs and technology.

The Galleria Dallas was awarded a gold award for Experiential Marketing for POP!, an event last summer where local theater artists created an Instagram playground experience to combat the COVID-19 fatigue that many were experiencing making them weary of entering public buildings.

The Galleria also received two silver awards. One was in the revenue category for Santaland and SNOWDAY, two immersive attractions that lasted six weeks and drove substantial revenue.  The other was in the community category for the debt of the Black Fashion Movement, a Black-owned shopping experience on Juneteenth weekend last year.

“I am so impressed what our marketing team was able to accomplish during 2021,” said Angie Freed, Galleria Dallas general manager. “Marketing Director Megan Townsend and her team went above and beyond to create initiatives that spanned every month of our year and every corner of our shopping center. These awards are a recognition of that immense effort.”

Galleria Dallas was the only Texas shopping center recognized with a MAXI award, and only 59 awards were given out globally.
